History

The history of cable TV is the history of Miharu Communications. We have had a factory in Kamakura since the 1950s, and our basic policy is to design, develop, and manufacture our own products.
We deliver the most advanced products and solutions from the historic Kamakura.

The year 1955, when Miharu Communications was established, was also the year when Japan's first cable TV (communal antenna TV) was put into practical use in Ikaho, Gunma Prefecture. Since then, our basic policy has been to design, develop, and manufacture our own products, from design and development using optical communication technology, digital technology, and IP transmission technology, in addition to analog (RF) technology, which has been our core technology since our founding, to software design technology such as firmware and applications. All engineers and manufacturing departments gather at the Kamakura Head Office, and the technologies and products produced by this free and open organization are always original and cutting-edge, contributing to the development of cable TV and video transmission technologies.

The history of technological innovation in cable television is truly the footsteps of Miharu Communications. Our products have been manufactured in Kamakura since the early days of the company.   • 1955

    Established as MIHARU Communications Machines Inc.

  • 1964

    In Tokyo Olympic MIHARU provided the Monitor system in 21 Stadium

  • 1969

    FURUKAWA ELECTRIC CO., LTD. invested and the name of company was MIHARU Communications Inc.

  • 1972

    Developed the 250 MHz and 300 MHz series of CATV bidirectional amplifier.
    Multi channel & Hybrid Fiber Coaxial begin in

  • 1989

    Broadcast Satellite (BS) Broadcasting and Space cable net began in

  • 1993

    Developed 770 MHz Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial(HFC) amplifier

  • 2000

    Broadcast Satellite (BS) Digital Broadcasting begins in

  • 2002

    Developed the digital broadcasting system

    Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting begins in some areas in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya

    Analogue Terrestrial Broadcasting ends in July 24th, 2011

    Developed OFMD Modulator with CS tuner

    Announcing the "HMC System" at the Cable Tech Show 2012

    4K test broadcasting has begun.
    FLEX FEED® system , CATV monitoring equipment and 4K-related equipment announced

    CATV monitoring equipment wins the 33rd Kanagawa Industrial Technology Development Award

    Development of backup IP transmitters and receivers for broadcasters

    Announced the MGSR series, which is compatible with the new 4K8K satellite broadcasting
